presents its history:
Siat counts today 400 employs, 30 of them in the R&D, working in six different plants in Italy, in a surface of 35.000 sqm, where we produce all our range of packaging tools and packaging machines starting from the plastic granules, for the moulding machines, and from the metal sheets, for cutting, bending, welding
and painting.
We have been founded on the early Seventies from a group of persons who were working in multinational company, with a plant in Italy, producing also self adhesive tape.
The Siat Company Philosophy was to offer tools and machines to facilitate the application of the self adhesive tape.
In fact the customer who is interested in the consumable product should be also interested in the tool to utilize and he is ready to buy from the same source if the quality, price and services are correct.
Today the same Philosophy has been extended also to Strech Film, Shrink Film and Straps.
The first product that Siat has realized has been the SELF ADHESIVE TAPE DISPENSERS.
Following the packaging product developments and market requirements today Siat produces a wide range of TAPE STRETCH FILM & STRAPPING DISPENSERS.
The following activity of Siat has been the production of FLEXOGRAFIC PRINTING AND SLITTING MACHINES.
At the beginning we started with a manual machine turning thanks to an handle and printing one 50 mm wide roll in one colour, today we produce a variety of machines up to 300 mm wide and maximum 5 colours for any kind of flexible material that can be rewound on rolls.
All our machines print and cut simultanously unwind, converting and rewinding.
The main activity of Siat has always been the production of PACKAGING MACHINES.
Starting from a very simple carton sealer we have developped in thirty years of activity a wide range of machines, up to the most sofisticated automatic machines, capable to apply not only self adhesive tape, but also stretch film, shrink film, straps and also inks with our unique range of ink-jet and rotary carton coders.

The shrinking machines came in our range with the acquisition of Gramegna in 1997 and Fai in 2002. Trademarks that we keep existing and we continue to distribute.
The Strapping machines, mainly for pallets, came in our Group in the year 2001
with Mega Gambolo (http://www.megasrl.com).
In the year 2000 Siat has been acquired from the MJ Maillis Group (http://www.maillis.gr).
Headquarters located in Athens, listed in the stock exchange of the same city, MJ Maillis is a leading producer of packaging materials, like strapping, stretch film, shrink film, edge boards and self adhesive tapes, with production plants in Greece, but also in many other european countries.
Siat and the MJ Maillis Group are selling their products with the support of several MJ Maillis Affiliates (located in many European Countries and North America) and indipendent distributors of packaging machines and materials located all over the world.
